Magaiba is a community-driven token. It all started when Juan and Pablo from the Circulo Vicioso Podcast discovered the existence of McGyver The Lizard, an Argentinian Tegu Lizard that became famous on social media.
During Chapter #161 of the Circulo Vicioso podcast, dated on 14 Dec 2023, they started to watch some McGyver videos as part of a common section of the podcast dedicated to watching different animals doing stuff. Until the first appearance of McGyver Monkeys became a common staple of the show.
While watching the videos, the guys detected the funny accent that the owner of McGyver had because she’s Asian and fell in love with the way she pronounced McGyver, which sounds more like the Spanish word ‘Magaiba.’
The boys laughed out loud, and Magaiba was born. Immediately, the podcast community adopted Magaiba as its favorite animal, and phrases like “he’s so good, so gentle” emerged. Magaiba became synonymous with gentleness and a bold stance to face life.
The meme grew so much that in the first days of March, some guys from the community started to create a cryptocurrency. In a few days, the entire community was on board, and on the 9th of March, 2024, the Circulo Vicioso launched $MAGAIBA.
